SecurExchange IMF Edition: * New Product *
SecurExchange
IMF is a new low cost plug-in that has been designed
to address the short comings of Microsoft’s
Intelligent Message Filter (IMF) offering. The IMF
albeit good at detecting spam can have a high false
positive rate resulting in lost business mail or an
excessive amount of time spending in reviewing the
archive folder. What is missing is an easy to administer
white list and threshold mechanism. Nemx SecurExchange
– IMF Edition, provides this ability to white
list email addresses or domains and can invoke different
actions based on the Spam Confidence Level (SCL) for
a message. Nemx SecurExchange adds a few configuration
dialogs to extend the IMF and can be “up and
running” in minutes safeguarding your important
business mail. Nemx SecurExchange – IMF is priced
at $249 US per Exchange Server.
SecurExchange – IMF improves Exchange's Intelligent
Message Filter (IMF) usability by:
- adding
the ability to control thresholds and actions on
a group by group basis, allowing your organization
greater control in dealing with lost mail destined
for sensitive users
-
bypassing IMF processing by addressee, domain, or
“self-sensing” white listing ensuring
true business partner’s emails are delivered
-
offloads administrators “un-archiving”
tasks to users by moving messages to different spam
folders or deleting the message based on the SCL
value and recipient.
Nemx Power Tools awarded Editor’s Choice
by Windows IT Pro magazine:
We
would like to thank all the customers that have provided
great ideas and suggestions for Nemx Power Tools over
the years. It is these comments, both good and bad,
that have made Nemx Power Tools a leading Secure Email
Content Management solution as evidenced by a recent
Editor’s Choice award by Windows IT Pro magazine.
Windows IT Pro awarded this honor to Nemx Power Tools
based on some of the following factors: “offers
a broad range of filter technologies”, “has
powerful options that let you customize the product
according to your business needs”, and “makes
it easy to configure these options”.
Nemx Power Tools – Advanced Edition:
A
new version of the Advanced Edition of Nemx Power
Tools has been posted on our web site. This new version
improves upon the memory and performance aspects of
the product and provides up to 3 times faster throughput
for the scanning of internal email in both real time
and background “after the fact” scanning
modes.
With a majority of business communications now done
via email, an effective internal policy management
should be in place to prevent confidential or proprietary
information from getting outside or even inside to
the wrong employees and to provide an email environment
for staff or students that is free from sexual, racial
or other types of harassment. The Advanced Edition
of Nemx Power Tools provides the necessary tools to
fully provide a Secure Content environment for your
Exchange Server and to remove these possible threats
to you organization or institution before they occur.
Ignoring these threats can open your business and
your messaging system to a number of potentially damaging
and expensive consequences, including significantly
lower morale and productivity, and open your company
or educational institution up to the threat of litigation.
Status Log - Aging:
Nemx
Power Tools and Nemx SecurExchange maintain a log
of status events, including messages which have been
triggered by a Spam, Content, or Concept rule, along
with the particulars of that message. This status
log is called NMXXSP.log and is found in the main
Nemx directory. Over time this file can grow quite
large and breaking it apart can be quite tedious.
With the current build of Nemx Power Tool and Nemx
SecurExchange, the NMXXSP.log file is “aged”
each night at 12 midnight. Old log files can then
be deleted or archived, saving disk space and decreasing
the overall review time.
Quarantine
Cleanup:
In
Exchange 2003, and 2000, messages quarantined by Nemx
Power Tools are kept in the Quarantine sub-directory
of the main Nemx directory. When a message is Released
or Deleted through the Outlook plug-in or via the
Release form, the corresponding message in the Quarantine
directory is deleted. However, if the quarantine release
notification message is ignored, then the corresponding
message in the Quarantine directory will not be deleted.
Over time, the contents of this directory will increase.
The ability to “age” this directory is
now part of the latest build of Nemx Power Tools or
SecurExchange. The default “keep” period
is 60 days, however this period may be modified through
the registry.
See the following Knowledge base article on how to
modify the aging period for the Quarantine Folder:
