Software Stengthens Commitment to Fighting Spam with
New RBL Partnerships
Relationships
with Mail Deflectore, SpamCop, and MailAbuse provide
customers with multiple lines of protection against
growing number of spam threats.
Ottawa,
Canada – January 5, 2004 – Nemx Software,
a provider of anti-virus and secure content management
products for companies of all sizes, today announced
that it has partnered with three anti-spam service
providers - Mail Deflector, SpamCop and MailAbuse
- to provide an additional layer of spam protection
for enterprises using Microsoft Exchange server. With
over 100 million Microsoft Exchange Server licenses
sold worldwide, these strategic partnerships will
reinforce and strengthen Nemx's position as an innovator
of anti-spam solutions in the Exchange environment.
In
2003, there was a 50 per cent increase in the overall
volume of spam, which has resulted in reduced employee
and IT administrator productivity, as well as growing
concerns of the reliability of messaging systems as
a primary form of business communication. Real-time
blackhole lists (RBL) are a technique used to filter
spam from actual business email; however, for this
method to be effective, it is critical that a mix
of highly credible, semi-credible and aggressive RBLs
are used. By offering support from multiple RBLs in
PowerTools, Nemx is ensuring that its customers are
able to keep pace with spam while protecting them
from unreliable RBLs which may mistakenly blacklist
legitimate domains, or turn rogue and blacklist everyone,
or face denial of service attacks.
“As
spam continues to infiltrate the inboxes of enterprises,
Nemx reinforces our commitment to adding layers to
our arsenal of tools, to ensure all businesses using
Exchange server have access to the most efficient
anti-spam technology on the market,” said John Young
, President of Nemx Software Corporation. “Our partnerships
with these leading RBLs shows that Nemx is not only
serious about putting a stop to spam but also in instilling
a high level of confidence in our customers that their
critical business email is getting through. We will
continue to extend our relationships and expertise
base as long as spammers continue to invade and corrupt
messaging systems.”
As
the first native Exchange product to employ third-party
Reverse BlackList (RBL) Technology, Nemx Power Tools
provides enterprises with real time information on
known spamming hosts, enabling businesses to experience
a solid return on investment by blocking spam at the
front door of Exchange, increasing overall Exchange
performance and decreasing message storage requirements.
Combined with Concept Manager - a highly intelligent
and intuitive feature that uses natural language processing
to better understand the "concept" of the
message – Power Tools is further strengthened in its
ability to identify spam and manage all email messages,
enabling networks to experience fewer false positives
than ever before.
Through
Nemx's work with professional RBL service providers
and additional security vendors including Norman ASA
for anti-virus, the company has been able to consistently
build upon its product offerings, such as Power Tools,
for secure content management in the Exchange environment.
“We
are excited to be working alongside Nemx to help eliminate
spam in today's businesses,” said Wade Maxfield, President
of Mail Deflector. “Given Nemx's success to date with
more than 3,000 customers worldwide, we foresee our
partnership with Nemx having a strong impact on the
way that companies fight spam in the future.”
