Nemx Helps U.K. School Protect Student / Teacher Email
School Standardizes On SecurExchange For Acceptable Use Policy Monitoring For 1,200 Students and Teachers
Ottawa, Canada – August 5, 2009 – Nemx Software, leaders in email compliance, content control and security solutions for Microsoft Exchange, and its U.K. partner Shift F7, today announced that the North Halifax Grammar School has deployed SecurExchange Corporate Edition to protect students and staff and ensure compliance with its acceptable email content and use policies.
“Email is a valuable tool for both students and teachers and it is important to North Halifax Grammar School that we offer a safe email environment” stated Emma Lewis, E-Learning Manager, NHGS. “We needed an email compliance solution that could allow us to monitor not just inbound and outbound messages, but also, internal email between students and/or students and teachers.”
“SecurExchange gave us the flexibility to apply different levels of policies to different users so we could really tailor how the system monitors email for various user groups like sixth formers, younger students and teachers. The event logs SecurExchange maintains also gives us all the data needed to meet our reporting requirements,” added Lewis.
Protecting students and staff from any potential misuse or inappropriate content is a key objective and the ability to monitor internal email is crucial for compliance. After extensive product evaluations SecurExchange, from Nemx Software, was chosen and implemented to provide real-time monitoring and content control for 100% of North Halifax Grammar School’s email traffic.
“SecurExchange is one of very few products we found that provides control for internal email and not just in/outbound messages” said Alex Nicholson, ICT Manager, NHGS. “But what really sold it to us is its advanced concept-based intelligent content analysis. Detection accuracy and the level of false positive and negative hits with SecurExchange was far superior to any product we tested. In addition, we were able to quickly define and implement our rules using the simple, yet very powerful, policy management capabilities in SecurExchange, and ongoing policy administration requires much less time and resources than with other products.”
“SecurExchange is widely used in the education market and we are pleased that, together with our partner Shift F7, we are able to make SecurExchange more readily available to schools in the U.K.” said John Young, President of Nemx. “North Halifax Grammar School is on the leading edge in terms of technology deployment in education and Nemx is proud that SecurExchange has been selected as part of their ICT strategy.”
